Working with high profile customers across militaries, government agencies, airports, critical infrastructure, law enforcement and many others.With one of the largest listed defence company market capitalisations in Australia and having raised approximately $250m in 2024 alone, DroneShield is undergoing hypergrowth stage, fuelled by rapidly increasing use of drones for nefarious applications, from battlefield, to terrorism, to contraband delivery and commercial espionage.This role is in the DroneShield Sydney headquarters in Sydney CBD. There are approximately 300 staff based in the 4,000sqm facility today, scheduled to grow to approximately 400 staff by end of 2025. Overseas on the ground presence includes USA, Denmark, Mexico, and UAE, as well as distributors in over 70 countries globally.About the roleWere looking for a Director of People and Performance to join our Sydney HQ and lead key people functions. Reporting to the CEO, youll drive strategic HR initiatives across onboarding, internal training, performance programs, salary banding, and global people operations. This role does not have direct reports at this stage. You will work closely with Talent Acquisition, Compliance and Finance functions.Youll oversee structured onboarding programs, implement internal training and development pathways, manage company-wide performance reviews, run engagement surveys, and lead the design and implementation of salary banding and compensation frameworks. This role is pivotal in building scalable, compliant, and efficient people processes across the business.Responsibilities, Duties and ExpectationsLead end-to-end onboarding processes to ensure efficient and consistent experiences across teams and locationsDesign and implement internal training and development programs for employees at all levelsManage company-wide performance review cycles, including goal setting, feedback, and evaluation frameworksConduct and analyse employee engagement surveys and turn insights into actionable initiativesDevelop and maintain salary banding frameworks, ensuring alignment with market benchmarks and internal equityPartner with Finance and Legal to support compensation planning and compliance across jurisdictionsOversee strategic people operations to support organisational growth and operational scalabilitySupport international people operations across the US, EMEA, and APAC as the business expandsQualifications, Experience and Skills5+ years of HR or people operations experience, ideally in fast-scaling (hypergrowth) companies and deep tech environmentsStrong knowledge of Australian employment law; international experience is a plusDemonstrated ability to implement strategic people initiatives from the ground upExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsNote for recruitment agencies: We do not accept unsolicited candidates from external recruiters unless specifically instructed. #J-18808-Ljbffr
