We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling, and withdrawal management services).About The RoleWe are seeking a values-driven and proactive AOD Support Worker, at our CBD location. Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a casual position.Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, level 3.The Sobering Up Unit is our 30-bed facility that provides monitoring, shelter, support, referrals and advocacy for persons who are assessed as requiring a safe place to sober up or recover from the immediate effects of alcohol and drug use. The unit also caters for people apprehended under the Public Intoxication Act (PIA) in South Australia.Key ResponsibilitiesUnderstand issues faced by and be able to work respectfully with all clients including those who are ATSI, CALD and LGBTIQ as well as work professionally with team members, clients and other agenciesMonitor clients utilising the service according to current practice policy and proceduresBe cognisant of new policies and procedures and how they may manifest themselves in service deliveryAccurately collet client and service delivery data on SAMISAccurately keep client records and ensure they are maintained in line with current policy and procedures an well as file and record case notes up to dateCollaborate with team members in completing rostered tasks and caring for clientsYou will haveMinimum Certificate IV in Community Services AOD or equivalentA working knowledge of accommodation and support options relevant to clients with complex support needs and substance use issuesA commitment to working with homeless people and an understanding of their needsHave a sound understanding of the risks, and able to work with clients with a high complexity of need and respond to individual changing needsWorking with Working with Children CheckHold a current SA Drivers License (highly desirable)A willingness to undergo a National Police checkA current Senior First Aid CertificateWhat We OfferAs a registered NFP we offer our eligible employees real and meaningful benefits such as;NFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax free) plus meals and entertainment benefit ($2,650)Health, fitness and financial discounts / benefitsPaid parental leave - 12 weeksUp to 8 weeks leave per year through our purchase leave schemeUp to 5 days paid leave per year to ''volunteer'' in a TSA program or activityPurpose driven career which has positive social and sustainable outcomesEmployee Assistance Program - Independent confidential counselling service;Opportunity for career development;An inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate and professional team membersPositively supporting and impacting the lives of others through your career contributionApplications will close as soon as a suitable candidate is secured.
