As our Corporate Affairs & Media Specialist, youll lead our national media strategy and ensure our voice is clear, consistent, and impactful. Youll work closely with internal teams, government, media, and the broader diabetes community to build awareness, strengthen our advocacy work, and manage reputational risk.This role sits at the intersection of policy, media and public affairs, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful social impact. Youll help amplify the voices of people living with diabetes and position Diabetes Australia as a trusted advisor and thought leader in the health space.In this role, you will: Develop and lead Diabetes Australias media and policy communication strategy Proactively manage media engagement, including responses to emerging and complex issues Prepare media releases and other materials Be the organisations first point of contact for media stakeholders Collaborate across teams to deliver consistent, timely and high-quality messaging Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media, health professionals and people with lived experience Support major campaigns, policy initiatives and strategic programs from a communications lensAbout youYou are a strategic communicator with a strong understanding of the media landscape and a deep appreciation for the role of advocacy in creating change.
