Through design, construction, and maintenance practices, these key infrastructure projects keep our communities connected, safe, and expanding.Were looking for a commercially minded, experienced, and motivated BUSINESS MANAGER to lead us in this pivotal role and support our continued growth and transformation.About the role:Your role as Business Manager involves managing the day-to-day operations of our organisation, ensuring smooth functioning and alignment with the strategic goals of our Water & Sewer construction business.You will work closely with the Managing Director and Office Administration Manager to shape and drive TWS Evolutions financial strategy and operations. This high-impact role blends strategic insight with hands-on execution and team leadership.Key responsibilities include:- Partnering with the Managing Director to influence commercial decisions, pricing, and capital investments.- Leading monthly reporting, consolidation, close-out, and internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and transparency.- Development and review budgeting, forecasting, and P&L cost analysis processes in collaboration with the Managing Director and department leaders.- Managing cash flow operations and forecasting, insurance coverage, and business risk frameworks.- Driving continuous improvement in financial systems (Microsoft Office, Xero, and Simpro), reporting cycles, and analytics.- Engaging confidently with external accountants and tax advisors and presenting financial insights to the Leadership Team and Board.- Coaching and developing team members while fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and collaboration.What you bring:- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax compliance, with at least 5 years experience in business finance processes.- Proven experience in business management within a construction, engineering, or utilities-related firm.- Demonstrated proficiency in financial control, development, reporting, and review.- A collaborative, positive approach aligned with TWSe values: Integrity, accountability, innovation, and community.- Strategic thinking, analytical and investigative skills, including the ability to research and prepare reports.- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality.- Knowledge of workplace health and safety responsibilities and a commitment to attending relevant WHS training.Why you''ll love working here:- A direct partnership with the Managing Director in a role that shapes business performance and direction.- Purpose-driven work: contribute meaningfully to critical infrastructure that supports communities across regional NSW and beyond through innovative water management technology.- A collaborative team culture that values initiative, integrity, and continuous improvement.- Opportunities to drive innovation in financial systems, analytics, and operational excellence.- If you do not already live here, the Blayney-Bathurst-Orange area offers a wonderful opportunity to escape city life and enjoy financial, personal, and family benefits in the wine and food region of central western NSW.- Orange, our closest regional centre, is a thriving city located just 3 hours drive west of Sydney and Canberra.
