Officer is the welcoming first point of contact for City of Prospect, providing a crucial "one-stop-shop" experience for our residents and ratepayers.In this role, you''ll manage a wide range of enquiries, both over the phone and in person, with the goal of achieving a first-contact resolution.This position is perfect for someone who is warm, approachable, and truly committed to fostering a welcoming environment for our community members.Here''s what youll dive into:Deliver a high standard of customer service by connecting residents with services, officers, or information to meet their needs and resolve enquiries efficientlyHandle calls and in-person enquiries professionally, aiming to provide a resolution or direct customers to the correct department/person during their initial contactAssist the Customer Service Team in managing and distributing incoming telephone calls effectivelyWelcome and attend to customers, contractors, and deliveries to our Customer Service counter with calm competence and a helpful demeanourAdminister incoming emails and other digital communications, ensuring they reach the intended department or officer promptlyDocument all customer requests and interactions accurately and efficiently within Councils Customer Request Management SystemCollect payments for rates, expiations, animal registrations, and other ad hoc fees and charges, demonstrating strong attention to detail in all cash handlingOffer relevant information to customers about Council services, events, and initiatives, anticipating common questionsWork closely with other Council departments to ensure seamless service delivery and information flow for residents.Essential criteria is this the perfect role for you?If you''re passionate about delivering outstanding external stakeholders, and maintain composure under pressureHighly organised with excellent time management and critical thinking skills, enabling you to achieve results efficiently and meet deadlines consistentlyThe capacity to identify issues by analysing information and recommending workable solutions that meet customer needsConfidence in processing payments accurately across various channels, both over the phone and in personA willingness to work in a casual, on-call capacity with variable hours based on operational needs, including covering periods of annual and sick leave.What''s in it
