Overview:Full-time , Continuing position Salary HEW 6 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University About The Position The Technical Officer: Creative Studios is a key member of the DSC Facilities and Technical Services team, responsible for delivering specialist technical support and expertise to staff and students across the Colleges diverse activitiesincluding academic programs, research, projects, events, and exhibitions. This role primarily supports workshops & creative studios operations within the School of Art, while also providing assistance to other College areas as needed. The Technical Officer is expected to remain up to date with evolving technologies and practices, offering innovative and practical solutions to the complex challenges inherent in creative arts environments. They will also ensure that specialist workshop areas are maintained to the highest standards, complying with all relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements. Specific responsibilities and priorities for the role will be reviewed and set annually in consultation with the S enior Technical Officer, Studios , as part of the Universitys work planning process. To be successful in this position, youll have : Proven high level of technical knowledge and expertise in the area s of creative studios, workshops and gallery . Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of students and staff cohorts. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and deliver innovative solutions to staff and students. Strong organisational and time management skills to ensure timely completion of tasks and effective delivery of services. Demonstrated knowledge and application of OH&S legislation and regulations, particularly regarding specialist spaces such as studios and workshops. Demonstrated current information technology skills and knowledge. Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively and flexibly as a member of a team and broader community.
