This includes managing the Pro Shop and Teaching Academy, delivering exceptional member engagement, curating golf events, and driving uptake of all the Clubs golf facilities.You will act as a key liaison between members, staff, executive management, and the Board of Directors, driving excellence in service delivery, retail performance, and operational best practice. You will also contribute to wider corporate and community initiatives across the Amstel Group, ensuring alignment with our strategic vision and community-focused mission.This position reports directly to the Managing Director and is instrumental in both day-to-day operations and longer-term planning.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage all Golf Operations, including the Pro Shop and Member Services.Lead and support customer service and retail functions, ensuring alignment with commercial KPIsProvide direction for the Teaching Academy and its professionalsCoordinate and implement Member Golf Events, Corporate Golf Days, and competitionsCollaborate with the Marketing Team to promote golf and hospitality servicesDevelop and execute member engagement strategies, improving retention and satisfactionDevelop and spearhead initiatives to foster participation in golf across all areas of the business, particularly with regards to lady members, junior members, inclusion members and elderly members.Prepare reports and provide key input to committee meetings, including minute preparation for:Greens Sub-CommitteeDisciplinary Sub-CommitteeActively participate in broader group functions, including:Weekly Management MeetingsWork in partnership with the Amstel Club and Function Teams to align cross-venue goalsEnsure consistent adherence to the Clubs ISO-accredited management systems and compliance frameworksKey RelationshipsReports to: Managing DirectorWorks Closely With:Ranfurlie Hospitality ManagerMarketing & Media ConsultantFunctions ManagerBoard of DirectorsDirect Reports Include:Membership AdministratorTeaching ProfessionalWhat Were Looking ForWe are seeking a proactive, passionate leader who thrives in a member-centric and commercially focused environment.Strong background in golf operations, membership services, or sport club leadershipProven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teamsExceptional interpersonal and communication skillsEvent coordination experience, with a focus on member and corporate golfProficiency in POS systems (SwiftPOS), online bookings, MiClub, MiMembership, and reporting softwareHigh-level administrative and organisational skillsDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment fostering strong, respectful working relationships with the Management Team, and maintaining clear, constructive communication with the Board of Directors to support strategic alignment and operational cohesion.Experience with golf retail operations and inventory managementSound understanding of safety protocols, and compliance proceduresCommercial acumen and the ability to balance member satisfaction with business outcomesPassion for community development and inclusion initiativesA respectful and empathetic approach to supporting staff and patrons from diverse backgrounds including people living with disabilities, CALD communities, and older AustraliansWillingness to champion programs such as the EveryOne Caf, Inclusion Golf Clinics, and our award-winning supported employment programsWhy Join Us?This is a unique opportunity to be part of a progressive and financially resilient Club that is redefining what a golf and hospitality venue can be professional, inclusive, community-focused, and commercially strong.
