With a dedicated team, it prioritises delivering meaningful outcomes through effective financial management and operational excellence.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.Maintain and reconcile financial records and ledgers on a regular basis.Support month-end and year-end financial reporting and audits as required.Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.Ensure compliance with local government accounting standards and legislative requirements.Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers or contractors to resolve finance-related queries.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team and processes.The Successful ApplicantA successful Finance Officer should have:Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Previous experience in transactional finance or a similar finance officer role, preferably within local government or the public sector.Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.Familiarity with local government accounting practices and relevant legislation is highly desirable.Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small finance team.Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
