The Senior Ranger is responsible for themanagement and leadership of the seasonal fire crew, field officersand works program. The role will implement, support and effectivelydeliver the annual regional fire program and park managementactivities. This may require at times, some out of hourswork including the participation in an on-callroster.Will be required to work some weekends and public holidaysfor which a penalty rate will be applied.Will be required to undertake a medical and fitnessassessment for a Fire Fighting Role Classification as definedin the DEW Fire Management Policy and Procedures.May be required to work from any location within the regionor any region or management unit within the state.Will be required to wear a uniform in accordance with DEWpolicy.A current class C drivers licence andwillingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd isessential.Intra and inter-state travel is required, includingextended periods of time away from home and travel in lightaircraft.A current Provide First Aid Certificate is desirable(HLTAID001; HLTAID002 and HLTAID003).This role has functions pertaining to working with childrenand is prescribed under the Child Safety (Prohibited Person)Act 2016 as requiring a Working with Children Check (WWCC).
