This is a full-time/part-time/casual position, offering the opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and passion for Indian cuisine.What you''ll be doingPreparing and cooking a range of authentic Indian dishes to the highest standardsPlan, prepare, and cook a diverse selection of Indian dishes, including curries,tandoori items, biryanis, breads, and vegetarian specialties.Overseeing the kitchen operations to ensure efficient, timely and consistent meal preparationRegulate the operation of cooking equipment such as gas burners, ovens, grills, and fryers to ensure optimal cooking conditions.Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality and freshness before preparation.Collaborating with the management team to develop and refine the Indian menuCollaborate in the development and updating of menus based on seasonality,customer feedback, and food cost management.Maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen environmentProviding guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staffEnsuring compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulationsManage stock control by ordering supplies, checking deliveries, and ensuringcorrect food storage procedures.What we''re looking forProven experience with a minimum of 1-2 years as an Indian Chef or Cook, with a strong understanding of traditional Indian cooking techniques and flavoursExcellent culinary skills, including the ability to prepare a wide range of Indian dishes to a high standardPassion for creating innovative and flavourful Indian cuisineStrong time management and multitasking abilities to coordinate kitchen operationsA team player with the ability to lead and mentor junior kitchen staffCommitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safetyFormal culinary training or qualifications in Indian cuisine are desirableStrong understanding of Indian cooking techniques, spices, and regional flavours.Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.Ability to work effectively as part of a multicultural team.What we offerAt Moonstone Empire PTY LTD, we are committed to providing our employees with a supportive and rewarding work environment.
