We want to hear from you!Were looking for an OO5 Ranger to add to our team of rangers. This position is mainly office-based, supporting a Senior Ranger and various management units to deliver operational work programs. The role supports the Bribie Island Recreation Area management unit, which is visited by many day visitors and campers. A significant component of the work involves compliance and enforcement activities. A background in compliance and enforcement, along with experience interpreting and applying legislation, will be highly regarded. In this role, you''ll play a key part in protecting one of our most beautiful places.This position operates within the Moreton Bay region, and depending on operational needs, work locations may vary from Bribie Island in the north to South Stradbroke Island in the south. A day in the life of a Ranger is highly variable, challenging, and rewarding. Duties may shift based on priorities, including responding to visitor behaviour issues, wildfires, managing emerging pest issues, natural disasters, community messaging, or organizing repairs to roads and infrastructure. Key attributes for success include resilience, fostering positive relationships, teamwork, problem-solving, and initiative.The role may also require undertaking compliance patrols, planned burns, wildfire deployments, conservation projects, or servicing and maintenance tasks, supplementing field rosters.
