The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation Tasmanian Branch (ANMF Tas) the largest union and professional body for nurses and midwives in Tasmania.We''re seeking an experiencedOperations Managerto drive the efficiency and effectiveness of our internal operations, enabling our team to continue delivering outstanding support and advocacy for our members across the state.About the RoleReporting directly to the Branch Secretary, youll lead a dedicated operations team and oversee core business services including administration, facilities, IT systems, project management, stakeholder relations, and support services to strengthen the work of the union.Based in Hobart, this role will lead the Operations team to deliver key projects, manage stakeholder relationships, provide recommendations to the Branch Council/Secretary, and work as part of the Management Team to promote and achieve organisational cohesion and drive a positive and supportive workplace culture.Key ResponsibilitiesUphold and promote the ANMFs vision, mission, values, strategic plan, and organisational culture.Lead and support the Operations Team, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.Drive and implement effective operational solutions and improvements across the organisation.Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners and vendors to ensure high-quality, cost-effective service delivery.Review and assess business proposals and contracts, lead negotiations to achieve favourable outcomes, and manage their successful implementation.Provide high-level advice and reporting to the Branch Secretary on key operational initiatives.Manage organisational systems including CRM, SharePoint, project management and other communication platforms.Collaborate with the Finance Manager on annual budgets and resource planning.Ensure the safety, maintenance, and efficiency of the office and facilities.Support strategic planning and contribute to executive-level leadership discussions.Deliver projects on time, within scope, and aligned to organisational priorities.What Youll BringEssential:A strong commitment to union values and the mission of the ANMF.Proven leadership experience managing people and projects.Demonstrated experience in business operations, particularly within the NFP or union sector.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Advanced analytical, problem-solving and change management capabilities.A sound understanding of financial management and budgeting processes.Experience overseeing office systems and IT infrastructure.Qualifications:Tertiary qualifications in business, operations, finance or a related field.Minimum 3 years experience in an operational leadership role.Why Join the ANMFMeaningful work supporting Tasmanias nursing and midwifery workforce.Collaborative and values-driven team culture.Opportunities for professional growth and strategic input.Competitive salary and conditions.How to ApplyIf youre ready to lead impactful operations in a values-driven organisation, wed love to hear from you.Please submit your cover letter and resume addressing the essential criteria.Applications close: 8th August 2025.
