Were a diverse, innovative, and collaborative team that loves what we doand we want you to be part of it!In this role: Being the Payroll Manager you are responsible for supervision of three direct reports and you will assist in ensuring seamless operation of the payroll function for entities within the West Australian Newspaper (WAN) Group and the Telethon TrustKey Responsibilities:Managing and supervising a small team of Payroll Officers to perform end to end payroll processing of approximately 700 employees.Reviewing and approving payroll runs (weekly, fortnightly and monthly).Monitoring correctness, eligibility and timeliness of all payroll payments in terms of Awards, EBAs, Employment Contracts, company policies and other relevant legislation.Management of WAN deliverables related to new payroll software implementation (transition from Preceda to Workday).Assisting in the design and implementation of enhancements to the companys payroll system and payroll procedures.Key contact to Seven group for all WAN related payroll matters.Overseeing and monitoring annual projects such as the issue of bonus payments.Preparation, reconciliation and payment of PAYG and superannuation.Ensuring accurate preparation of monthly superannuation and payroll tax returns.Resolving complex payroll queries from across the WA business.Producing month-end and year-end reports for the business.Liaising with internal and external auditors.Mentoring, developing and training the Payroll Officers.What You Bring:Proven leadership experience in a senior payroll role, with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.Hands-on payroll system implementation experience - Workday preferred, or other enterprise-grade systems like SAP, Preceda, or Chris21 (highly desirable)Strong understanding of complex EBAs, awards, and payroll legislation, with the ability to interpret and apply them confidently.Advanced skills in payroll reporting, compliance, and reconciliation across PAYG, superannuation, and payroll tax.Project management skills and a process improvement mindset - you enjoy streamlining workflows and solving inefficiencies.Why You Will Love Working Here?Work with a leading media company no media background required!Perks Galore: Salary sacrifice, paid parental leave, and an employee perks program.A vibrant, creative culture where your ideas and energy will be valued.Flexibility in a high-performance but relaxed, friendly environment.Exciting opportunities for personal growth in an exciting company.Ready to take on the challenge and be a key player in our incredible team?
