At the ACCC, we believe the best version of you is the one thats true to who you are and thats the you we want working alongside us.We value flexibility, and all roles can be performed from any capital city in a state or territory or Townsville and are available on a full-time, part-time or job-share basis.Applicants from diverse backgrounds including First Nations peoples, people with disability and those from different cultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply.What you will do as a Senior Project OfficerThe Consumer Product Safety Divisions strategic objective is to protect consumers from unsafe products by identifying, prioritising and addressing the highest risks of serious injury and death arising from safety hazards in consumer products through regulation, education, compliance and enforcement actions.As a Senior Project Officer in the Risk Assessment and Operations Branch, you will be responsible for:Assessing and triaging product safety reports from consumers, businesses and other stakeholders regarding alleged breaches of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010Undertaking investigations into alleged breaches, which could lead to court enforceable undertakings, infringement notices, public warning notices, or court proceedingsDeveloping innovative solutions to address risks, including through compliance and education, regulatory interventions, and stakeholder engagementUndertaking research, analysis and stakeholder consultation to prepare reports and recommendations that inform risk mitigation strategies to address product safety hazards.About YouIn order to succeed in the role, you will have:Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field such as law, intelligence, regulation, economics, public policy, communications, arts, project management, healthA good understanding of the ACCCs product safety functions, role, purpose and objectives, and knowledge of the Australian Consumer Law and Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (or the ability to attain such knowledge quickly)Experience in helping to deliver outputs related to: investigations, compliance and enforcement, policy, advocacy, research, education, project management or stakeholder managementAbility to undertake objective, systematic research and conduct detailed analysis of information or evidence and draw reasoned conclusions that support evidence-based decision makingAbility to present research and findings in well-developed written communication, including correspondence, reports, internal papers and briefs, legal documents, and external-facing material such as consumer and industry guidanceStrong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence, persuade, negotiate and foster positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.To find out more about us and the role, please read the Candidate Kit.How To ApplyYou will be asked to respond to the statement of claims of no more than 800 words and submit your resume with key outcomes or what you are most proud of in each role you have held (2 pages maximum).Salary: $99,562 - $111,590 (plus 15.4% superannuation)Contact Officer: Yasmin Murry, Director, Strategic Projects, Risk Assessment and Operations (07) 3835 4643Applications Close: 11:00pm (AEST), Sunday 27 July 2025 #J-18808-Ljbffr
