Add expected salary to your profile for insightsWespine, the leading softwood Timber Processor in Western Australia is currently ramping up production in an exciting new phase for the company and requires a highly skilled and dynamic Maintenance Superintendent to lead and oversee the Maintenance team at our Pine Sawmill on Moore Road, Dardanup, Western Australia. Occasional travel to Perth will be required.In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for maintaining the production processing plant and equipment, ensuring they operate at optimal efficiency within budgetary constraints, and continually drive improvements. If you have a strong Engineering background in mechanical systems, a proven track record in maintenance leadership and the ability to troubleshoot and enhance plant operations, wed love to hear from you.Our people are integral to Wespines success, and we believe in investing in our employees through offering career pathways, learning opportunities and a strong workplace culture based on safety and growth.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepare and administer budgeting, planning and implementation of site maintenance.Advise and assist the Maintenance Supervisors in the development and review of preventative maintenance schedules.Advise and assist trades personnel with daily troubleshooting.Review and recommend ongoing improvements to plant and equipment.Authorise purchases for maintenance and approved projects.Assist in the training of Apprentices.Advisor workshop personnel on engineering concerns i.e. mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment.Assist the Maintenance Supervisors and Planners with records of new and existing equipment specifications.Maintain up to date drawings of all site services and records as required under statutory regulations.Design and detail minor plant modifications for existing plant and equipment as required from time to time.Support and assist project teams in the design (where required), performance specification, installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment.Advise management on staff and training requirements.Ensure that a comprehensive downtime record covering all production centres is maintained, reviewed and acted upon.Comply with and ensure that all maintenance personnel work to company safety regulations at all times.Report any non-conformances in accordance with Procedure QP-13-01 (Control of Non-Conforming Product) and Procedure QP-14-01 (Corrective Action).Maintain work environment in a clean and tidy stage and contribute to the tidiness of the general work environment.RESULTS TO BE ACHIEVED:Budgeting uptime levels for all production processes are to be sustained and improved upon where possible.Processing equipment is to be maintained in a manner that enables the constant production of within specification products.Maintenance expenditure must be closely monitored and maintained within the budget.COMPETENCIES:SkillsCAD or similar systemsReasonably high level of general computer literacy (Word, Excel, Mex)Hot oil systemsPneumatic systemsHydraulic systemsAn extensive knowledge of machine parts, their operation and limitations with particular emphasis on materials handling equipmentAbility to lead a technical team comprising of all trades,Ability to problem solve in a high-pressure production environmentCapacity to combine technical expertise with a practical understanding of mechanical handling and processing equipmentMust be able to communicate effectively with a broad cross section of senior management, production, trades and other technical personnelPractical approach to problemsPersistenceDecisiveness (the will to take action, make a decision)Flexible and adaptableMust be prepared to support periods of breakdown, maintenance shutdowns and commissioning of new plant and equipment.KnowledgeLeadershipBasic control systems mainly Allen Bradley and SCADA systemsMachine and equipment understandingManagement understanding and knowledgeMS OfficeQualificationsTertiary qualification in Engineering or relevant experience in a similar roleExcellent Mechanical knowledgeOccupational Health and SafetyBENEFITS/CONDITIONS:Excellent Monthly salary package on offerRange of Employee benefitsMobile phone supplied for business and personal useLaptop computer supplied for business useVehicle supportPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:A reasonable level of fitness is required to expedite working at heights, in confined spaces and to permit a rapid response where required to urgently attend various locations spread over a large manufacturing site.If you feel you have what it takes to become the next successful Maintenance Superintendent at Wespine, please press the Apply Now button below.Applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.How do your skills match this job?How do your skills match this job?Sign in and update your profile to get insights.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?
