About the Climate Change AuthorityThe Climate Change Authority (Authority) is an independent statutory body established under the Climate Change Authority Act 2011 (Authority Act) to provide expert advice to the Australian Government on climate change policy. The Authority conducts and commissions its own independent research and analysis.For more information about us please visit the Authoritys website.About the roleAs Chief Executive Officer, reporting to the Minister for Climate Change and Energy, you will be a statutory appointee, leading the staff of the Authority. You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Authority, ensuring it performs its functions as set out in legislation, and will act in accordance with the policies determined, and any directions given, by the Authority.You will be a change leader with the professional experience to deliver outcomes for the Authoritys diverse set of stakeholders. Your judgement and communication skills will enable you to work with stakeholders from government, science, industry, non-government organisations and academia.To be a strong contender for this appointment, you must have high level judgement and leadership skills, demonstrated professional and personal integrity and a strong commitment to, and an understanding of, public sector governance and accountability. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.Pre-employment checks - your suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process.
