Were doing it with our customers and communities as Australias energy infrastructure partner, a role our unique experience and expertise positions us to play.We now have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Commercial Contracting to join our Energy Solutions team, in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne office on a permanent full-time basis.Reporting to the General Manager Gas Commercial, you will be leading a high performing team of 6, and responsible for developing and executing commercial arrangements for APAs gas pipelines and storage assets nationally that enhance APAs market position, drive revenue growth, and support innovation within the energy sector.You will lead the negotiation and execution of complex infrastructure and service agreements, ensuring they align with APAs regulatory obligations and strategic direction, while managing risk and optimising commercial value.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the negotiation and delivery of commercial agreements (including gas transport, storage, co-use, connection, and third-party works) aligned to strategic objectives and regulatory requirementsDevelop and implement commercial strategies and account plans that support APAs growth, financial, and operational goalsMaintain, evolve, and manage precedent agreements and bespoke infrastructure contractsPartner with Legal, Finance, Regulatory, and Operational teams to ensure effective service delivery and contract executionDrive commercial outcomes by identifying new opportunities, managing change, and introducing innovative commercial modelsManage customer accounts and build strong internal and external relationships to ensure seamless integration of agreementsResolve contract-related disputes and issues proactively to protect APAs commercial and reputational interestsAbout YouExtensive experience negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts in the energy, infrastructure, or regulated industriesStrong understanding of infrastructure commercial models, regulatory compliance, and risk management principlesProven ability to develop and manage commercial strategies and customer account plansStrong cross-functional collaboration skills with experience working across legal, financial, regulatory, and operational domainsCommercial acumen with a strategic mindset and ability to identify and capture new opportunitiesExcellent relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence liaising with senior leaders, government, and industry partnersExperience introducing new service offerings and managing organisational change will be highly regarded.Experience in managing and developing high-performing teams, fostering collaboration, and leading through changeWorking at APAAt APA were committed to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace where you can achieve your best.
