Apply now Job no: 503362Work type: PermanentLocation: RockhamptonCategories: Catering/Food Services, All otherMercy Food Services is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for a Chef to join our team at Mater Rockhampton in a permanent, full-time position.Reporting to the Head Chef, this key role involves delivering safe, nutritious, and high-quality food to all customers while meeting tasks and deadlines within the required timeframes.Under the guidance of the Head Chef, prepare and cook main meals/desserts and vegetables as per recipes and daily production scheduleComplete traditional and Kettle food preparation, cooking and chilling of products as per daily production requirementsPortion and label product before cooking/ chilling and distributionPrepare and complete documentation relating to Safe Food Production as per the Food Safety Plan documentationAssist with Recipe DevelopmentAssist and guide workplace Trainees/Apprentices as requiredConduct daily kitchen environmental cleaningAccept, adhere and promote Workplace Health and Safety requirements, appropriate standards and risk management guidelines to ensure health and safety obligations are met to maintain a safe working environmentAbout youTo be successful in this role you will possess:TAFE qualified Catering/Cooking certificate or equivalentKnowledge of Cook/Chill processesDemonstrated experience in bulk food preparation, including vegetable and dessert cookingAbility to read, follow and understand recipes, recipes methods and products being utilised for productionDemonstrated knowledge of Food Safety (HACCP) PrinciplesAn ability to achieve goals and objectives with minimal supervisionDemonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skillsCertificate in occupational hygienePrevious catering experience in a Health or Aged Care organisationExperience with cook/chill processesMater is Queenslands largest not-for-profit healthcare provider, delivering exceptional care to nearly 700,000 patients each year across 11 (soon to be 12) hospitals.
