This is a great opportunity to work in a rewarding environment where your contribution truly makes a difference. You will play a key role in the daily care, enrichment, and wellbeing of our animals, while working alongside a committed team of staff and volunteers. Your input will be valued as we work together to achieve positive outcomes for animals and the community.You must hold relevant qualifications and have significant experience in handing companion animals. BARC is a team of animal lovers who use fear free handling techniques. The ideal candidate will work well in a large team environment and have a focus on animal welfare. Weekend overtime may be occasionally required.If you are proactive, compassionate, and ready to grow your skills in animal care, we would love to hear from you! Weekend overtime may be occasionally required.EssentialQualifications and experienceRelevant qualifications in an appropriate fieldSignificant experience in handling companion animalsCurrent class C drivers licence.DesirableQualified microchip implanterKnowledge of applicable legislation/regulationsDemonstrated knowledge of animal care and welfare issuesComputer literate in basic office applications and the ability to quickly learn corporate applicationsDeveloped verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated commitment to customer serviceAbility to work within a team environmentAbility to drive manual vehicleExperience in handling livestock.Remuneration And BenefitsThe salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Councils Enterprise Agreement.Entry level for this position starts at $1,197.30 per week38-hour working weekRostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnightEmployee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 12% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.Our commitment to safetyBlacktown City Council is committed to safety.
