The role contributes to the effective delivery of governance services in alignment with the Governance Framework and relevant policies. It plays a key part in ensuring smooth operations, informed decision-making, and compliance with statutory and organisational requirements.Role accountabilities include:Coordinate and prepare documentation for Council and Committee meetings, including agendas, minutes, and communications for elected members, drawing on strong experience in meeting preparation and minute-taking.Maintain governance systems and online content across Council platforms, including Council Hub, InfoCouncil, and The Hive, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.Provide administrative support for Right to Information requests, public question responses, and the execution of contracts under the Citys common seal.Assist in managing elected member processes, including expense reporting, correspondence archiving, and database maintenance, with a focus on consistency and compliance.Support the recording, archiving, and retrieval of Council and Committee meeting papers, backfilling the duties of the Governance Officer as required to ensure continuity of service.Liaise across Council networks to promote the consistent application of governance policies and deliver high-quality support services.Demonstrate a strong desire to progress within the governance function, contributing proactively to team initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.Are you passionate about driving excellence in governance and administration?We are on the lookout for a proactive, detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Senior Administration Officer Governance.We want you on our team with the following qualifications and experience.Certificate IV or higher in Business Management, Public Sector Administration or similar.Current Driver Licence.Proven experience delivering high-quality administrative support within a complex organisational environment, with strong stakeholder engagement skills.Sound understanding of local government operations and the ability to navigate a politically sensitive setting.High proficiency in digital tools including word processing, spreadsheets, content management systems, and governance software.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accuracy under pressure, and uphold corporate values and standards.About usThe City of Hobart offers something for everyone, with connections between nature, history, culture, businesses and each other.
