It provides for over 28,000 annual aircraft movements and approximately 180,000 passengers a year. A new terminal was built in 2013 in recognition of increased commercial and passenger numbers and forecast demands for future growth.Established in July 2025, the Port Lincoln Airport Management Authority is a newly formed subsidiary of the Lower Eyre Council to provide strategic advice to Council on aerodrome development and provide guidance on the management of the Port Lincoln Airport and Council owned airstrips in Coffin Bay and Cummins.The guiding objectives of the Port Lincoln Airport Management Authority include:Ensure the Port Lincoln Airport is independently financially viableProvide cost effective and reliable travel for locals and an emerging tourism industryBecome a strategic driver of investment and economic growth to the Eyre Peninsula regionOperate under a governance model that enables a greater level of commercial focus and sustainabilityWe are currently seeking expressions of interest for a suitably experienced Chairperson and two Board Members to join the appointed Board Members in forming the inaugural skills-based board. The appointments will be for a 2-year term with an opportunity for re-appointment. It is expected that collectively, the Board composition will cover a wide range of skill sets including:Governance and RiskAviation and Aerodrome StrategyProperty DevelopmentCommercial AcumenSales, Marketing and SponsorshipInvestment attraction / Economic development / TourismYou will be required to attend six meetings per year - three in person in the Eyre Peninsula and three by videoconference.
