Staff Specialist CardiologistElectrophysiology & General Cardiology | Public Health Service | TasmaniaPermanent Full-Time | $216,300 $296,640 + Incentives & AllowancesWe are recruiting for a leading tertiary hospital in southern Tasmania that is seeking a dedicated Staff Specialist Cardiologist with expertise in electrophysiology to join their well-established Cardiology Department. This position offers an excellent mix of clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities in one of Australias most scenic and lifestyle-friendly regions.The Role:As a Consultant Cardiologist, you will contribute to the general clinical workload of the department and play a key leadership role in the delivery of electrophysiology services. You will work within a highly integrated team that includes a Coronary Care Unit, Cardiology Ward, Cardiac Catheter Lab, and Non-Invasive Testing Unit. Services also extend statewide and include telehealth where appropriate.Your responsibilities will include:Providing inpatient and outpatient cardiology services with a focus on heart rhythm disordersLeading weekly case discussions for complex device implantation and ablationSupporting nurse-led clinics in electrophysiology and rhythm managementParticipating in undergraduate and postgraduate medical educationContributing to quality improvement, clinical governance, and ongoing service developmentActively participating in research and maintaining a strong academic presenceKey Requirements:Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in CardiologySub-specialisation in electrophysiology and cardiac devices strongly preferredCurrent or eligible Specialist Registration with AHPRADemonstrated clinical leadership in tertiary or large regional hospital settingsCommitment to evidence-based care, teaching, and continuous improvementRemuneration & Benefits:Base Salary: $216,300 $296,640 per annum (dependent on experience and seniority)Access to senior specialist rates (up to $310,389) if eligibleAllowances:CPD Allowance: $16,974 p.a.
