About the RoleThe Safety Advisor supports one or several projects to ensure meeting the Health, Safety, Environment and Quality requirements. The role also involves assisting the site teams and managers by implementing McMahon Services'' system. The Safety Advisor identifies and recognises hazards and non-conformances and seeks risk minimisation and mitigation whilst contributing to the improvement of the health, safety, environmental and Quality practices. This role will report directly into the Senior Safety Advisor.DutiesImplement WHSEQ systems and procedures on siteMaintain a sound working knowledge of company safety procedures, legislation and the project Management PlansPromote safety awareness throughout the site workforce, provide ongoing support towards the maintenance of safe site conditions and respond immediately to make safe any unsafe conditionsPromote compliance to safety rules and procedures and respond immediately to any WHSEQ breachesEnsure that all personnel working on the site have undergone the safety induction trainingAssist the Site Supervisor as required in carrying out safety inspections, reporting safety performance data, conducting induction training and conducting daily pre-start and toolbox meetings where applicable.Contribute to reviewing SWMS and JSEA''s and monitor the full and proper implementation of agreed safe work methodsProvide support to the Project Management TeamAssist in compiling WHSEQ management plansAssist in the establishment of Project Site FoldersBe responsible for coordinating Contract Pre-Start Up making sure all actions are closed out prior to the commencement of projectProvide proactive safety-focused construction solutionsFollow up on corrective actions relating to regulatory authority notices, audits, inspections, and incident/injury investigationsProvide First Aid treatment and ensure the proper care of injured personsProvide accurate recording of incidents and injuriesProvide guidance of WHSEQ non-conformances rectificationsOther ad hoc duties as required.Skills and ExperienceMinimum qualification of Certificate IV in OHS or currently be studying in this fieldCurrent First Aid CertificateHold a current White CardHold a current Driver''s LicenseHave a clean police record and ability to obtain DCSI and Defence clearanceMinimum 5 years'' experience as a WHS CoordinatorExperience in the construction industryExperience in safety management systemsExperience in the HAZOP and CHAZOP processProblem-solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgementKnowledge in auditing and investigation are requiredCompetencies in hazard Identification, and risk managementAbility to develop and deliver site WHSEQ trainingAbility to implement compliant site OH&S Management systemsCapable of conducting audits with lead auditor certification.Capable of conducting effective investigationsCompetency in general suite of software (e.g., Microsoft professional suite), WHSEQ systems, and project management platforms (e.g., InEight, Aconex, Procore)Team player, flexible and adaptable to changing needs and demandsPersistent, motivated, and driven, good time management and adherence to agreed costs, schedules, and timeframesApply NowTo register your interest, please forward your current resume and cover letter via the application link.Your confidential application will be acknowledged by email and shortlisted applicants will be contacted by phone from the Davies Stewart team.For a confidential conversation please contact our office | 08 8232 8008To stay up to date with this role and other positions available through Davies Stewart please visit our website and social platforms or contact our friendly team.P | 08 8232 8008E | info@daviesstewart.comFollow UsLinkedIn: daviesstewartFacebook: DaviesStewartRecruitmentInstagram: DaviesStewartRecruitment #J-18808-Ljbffr
