See yourself in our teamThe Bankwest Line 1 Financial Crime team are responsible for strengthening the culture of financial crime compliance across Bankwest. We support the business actively manage and reduce its financial crime risks, ensuring Bankwest meets its regulatory and community expectations. We achieve this through driving effective implementation of the Groups AML/CTF, Sanctions and ABC policies whilst continually strengthening our Financial Crime risk management framework, procedures and controls.Do work that mattersReporting to the Executive Manager Financial Crime Risk and Controls, you will be a member of the Bankwest Financial Crime leadership team and will lead the teams that are responsible for establishing and actioning business unit level controls that help Bankwest manage its Financial Crime risk.You will design and implement controls to enable better risk and compliance outcomes, your key responsibilities include:Overseeing the effective design and execution of controls owned by the Line 1 Financial Crime team.Develop and champion a Continuous Improvement culture within the team, and consistently look for new opportunities to further optimise and streamline existing processes. Lead projects impacting the operational environment (internal and external) and ensure adequate training is in place to support the team.Complying with Service Level Agreement standards for delivery and adhering to all policy and procedures.Applying sound risk management practices by pro-actively identifying and responding to risks and reporting them as necessary.Developing a high performing team through coaching and mentoring.We''re interested in hearing from people who have:Experience in operational risk management and compliance ideally within banking, financial services or law enforcement (preferable)Strong technical knowledge and experience in the application of financial crime risk management frameworks and expertise in AML/CTF, Sanctions and ABC (preferable)Exceptional communication and stakeholder managements skills and ability to negotiate and influence at all levelsExcellent written and verbal communication including writing of committee papers and facilitation of working groups with multiple stakeholdersIf you''re already part of the Commonwealth Bank Group (including Bankwest, x15ventures), you''ll need to apply throughSidekickto submit a valid application.
