You will be contributing to our role as the national regulator to safeguard and protect older Australians receiving aged care services.Meet some of our people and learn more about the Commission and our Regulatory Strategy on our website www.agedcarequality.gov.auAbout the TeamEnterprise Performance, Assurance and Risk: The Enterprise Performance, Assurance and Risk section is responsible for developing, embedding, and refining the Commissions frameworks, policies, and procedures to support the achievement of strategic goals, compliance with the PGPA Act, and the effective identification and management of enterprise risks. The section promotes a culture of continuous improvement and transparent reporting, and ensures delivery of appropriate education, training, and communication on key governance and risk matters. It also ensures all governance accountabilities and statutory compliance obligations are met across the organisation.Key functional areas include:Performance Reporting, Coordination and Business Planning, which provides clear links between the Commissions activities and its results, aligning planned and actual performance through strategic and operational planning, corporate reporting, and coordination of the Corporate Plan and Annual Report.Enterprise Risk Management ensures the Commission is aware of and actively manages risk, while also identifying potential opportunities.Audit and Assurance provides independent assurance that governance, internal control, risk management, and quality assurance practices are effective, and includes liaison with the Australian National Audit Office, secretariat support to the Risk and Audit Committee, and oversight of the internal audit program and Quality Assurance Framework.Business Resilience maintains the Commissions Business Resilience Management Framework, coordinating continuity activities and supporting the Crisis and Business Continuity Teams, with reporting responsibilities to the Business Resilience and Security Committee.About the RoleThe Director, Enterprise Performance, Assurance and Risk is responsible for establishing and transitioning, leading and coordinating a broad range of performance, assurance, risk and business resilience functions, core to supporting the Commissions achievement of its strategic intent and operational goals.Position DutiesThe Director, Enterprise Performance, Assurance and Risk key accountabilities are:Ensure the organisation''s risk management framework and quality assurance framework, policies and strategies remain contemporary and compliant with relevant regulations, standards and the strategic imperatives of the Commission.Manage the Commissions Enterprise Risk RegisterProvide advice on PGPA requirements, corporate governance compliance obligations and existing and emerging risks to support strategic decision processes and critical issues response. Provide reporting on these functions to the Risk and Audit Committee.Lead coordination of the Commissions internal audit function, supporting the Chief Internal Auditor, engage and liaise with the Commissions Internal Auditors to progress planning and co-ordination of Internal Audit Plan activities and monitor and progress actions to address key recommendationsProvide advice on quality assurance and risk assessments, controls and risk treatment and effectively communicate risk management policies and procedures to strengthen the risk profile of the Commission.Lead and coordinate the Commissions corporate and operational planning and Annual Report development.Oversee the integration and refinement of the Commissions performance framework, ensuring alignment and integration of KPIs with the Commissions strategic goals.Contribute to Group-level strategic planning processes to ensure that plans are informed by high quality governance, compliance and risk management advice.Support the Senior Director and Directors with the development and oversight of key Performance Measures.Integrate performance and reporting inputs from across the Groups to create a whole-of-Commission view.Establish, maintain and coordinate the Commissions Business Resilience Management Framework, and Crisis Management Team/Business Continuity Teams and related continuity activities. Provide reporting on these functions to the Business Resilience and Security Committee.Position Eligibility Requirements(Selection Criteria)To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:Demonstrated experience of working in government and knowledge of Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act, including experience with implementing the Commonwealth Performance Framework.Demonstrated experience in leading strategic planning and implementing organisational wide initiatives and governance frameworks to strengthen and improve risk management systems and compliance, internal audit functions and enterprise level performance monitoring and reporting.Demonstrated understanding of the role and functions of regulation, and the importance of corporate functions to the overall performance of a regulatory agency.Highly developed leadership skills, including the ability to lead in a dynamic and ambiguous environment, build trust, provide strategic advice and lead multidisciplinary and cross functional teams.A demonstrated sense of personal accountability, including the ability to act decisively and with integrityDemonstrated ability to build strong professional relationships with staff, stakeholders, and clients at all levels together with superior interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skillsExceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate to achieve strategic outcomes.Required qualifications and experience:Demonstrated understanding of the positions key responsibilities and a capability and commitment to lead the team effectively during a time of significant changeBaseline level security clearancePosition NotesSalary offered will be between $141,487 - $167,513 per annum depending on skills and experience.
