Are you ready to make a difference in the world of sustainable finance? NSW Treasury is seeking a motivated Associate to join our Sustainable Finance Policy Branch within the CCBS Division. In this role, you''ll help drive sector wide reforms and collaborate with government agencies to manage environmental and social impacts on the States fiscal position, to deliver better long-term outcomes for the people of New South Wales. What You''ll Do: Support the Director and Team: Assist in developing and driving the States Sustainable Finance Agenda through policy development, stakeholder engagement, and implementation. Drive Cross-Sector Reforms: Help develop and implement significant reforms, including climate and nature risk assessment, and climate-related financial disclosures and reporting. Analyse and Advise: Provide analysis and advice to support the development of statewide strategies and programs to better manage the financial impacts of environmental and social risks and opportunities, including climate risks to government assets and services. General Support: Offer support to the Sustainable Finance Branch and the CCBS Division in various capacities. Proactive Issue Management: Identify and raise issues with your managers to ensure smooth operations. Why Join Us? The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria: Demonstrated understanding of ESG and sustainability matters and their potential impact on the States fiscal position, including the risks and opportunities from climate change Demonstrated capability and understanding of the policy development process and a track record of implementing policies into practice Demonstrated capacity and desire to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders to influence and manage relationships, including communicating financial and policy analysis clearly, accurately and effectively (verbally and in writing) Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, with solid interpersonal skills Broad analytical experience and the ability to interpret data to identify any trends or anomalies, under guidance, including technical reports Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks effectively and ask for support when needed Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as a sustainability related field, economics, public policy, finance or environmental policy What can you expect from us The team you will join is made up of a diverse and welcoming group of people.
