Your role is to ensure planned preventive and predictive maintenance tasks are completed according to the maintenance schedule and production schedule, in accordance with Australian and Industry standards, GMP Code and HSE procedures and practices. The successful candidate will ideally come from the FMCG or Consumer Industry and the relevant recognised qualifications for Queensland, Australia.The position will be based on a monthly shift rotation. 3 weeks of day shift from 6am to 2pm, then 1 week of afternoon shift from 2pm to 10pm. Some Weekend O/T may be required.Main ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance on services throughout the plantContribute to team effectiveness through participation and cooperationRespond to site maintenance requests and equipment failure according to priority set by urgency and importance.Action requests for unplanned improvement work completed in accordance with agreed plans and timeframesSupport line operators with machine set up, running adjustments, advice and guidanceInvolvement in introduction, commissioning and validation of equipment is conducted as requiredAssist with design and manufacture of any new process improvementsInvolvement in site lean initiativesContinuous Improvement projects, bringing expertise in refining processes and business efficienciesQualificationsAbout youTrade Qualification in Mechanical Fitter/Machinist with a minimum of Certificate III or aboveRestricted Electrical licence is desirableExperienceProven experience as a maintenance technician in a Pharmaceutical or FMCG environment- Food and beverage highly desiredUnderstanding of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systemsKnowledge of general maintenance process and methodsExperience in Root Cause Analysis techniques, as well as CI methodologies, including; 5S and LEAN is preferredSoft And Technical SkillsAmbition to progress with the company (eg; into a management role)Stakeholder management and communication skillsStrong work ethic, ability to work independently and within a team environmentBe extremely well planned and organised, able to plan ahead, reliable and diligent in all areas of workRelevant technical qualifications- min Cert 3 requiredWhy us?At Opella, you will enjoy doing challenging, purposeful work, empowered to develop consumer brands with passion and creativity.
