A deep sense of culture, place and people sits at the heart of everything we do.The Support Officer position will be customer-focused, providing a welcoming environment to the visitors, artists and contractors of The Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre. We are looking for casual staff who have demonstrated experience in customer service and can communicate programs and information to customers from a wide range of backgrounds and age groupsOur casual staff guide visitors and facilitate activities within our exhibitions, public programs and makers space, making all experiences welcoming and memorable. The role includes reception, administrative assistance to the team, safety, front of house ushering, ticketing, set up and pack down for events and catering, as well as maintaining the appearance of a multipurpose venue.We are seeking casual staff that have availability during our Tuesday - Friday weekday operating hours, where the rostered hours will vary each week. There are also some opportunities to work evenings for events.As this is a casual position, there are no guaranteed hours of work. You will be rostered or called in for duty on an as required basis only. Your employment is conditional upon there being work available which could include weekdays and weekends.EssentialQualifications and experienceMinimum Cert III in a related fieldSuitable experience in an arts environment and or demonstrable interest and or participation in the arts industryHigh-level oral and written communication skills including sound negotiation and conflict resolution skillsDemonstrated organisational skills, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality and professionalismDemonstrated commitment to customer serviceDemonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to work productively and collaboratively within a fast paced multidisciplinary environmentWorking with Children Check valid for paid work.DesirableExperience using corporate databases (e.g. TRIM, Tech1, SCOUT)Experience in basic financial managementProven competency in minute takingProven excellent time management and organisation skills, with attention to detail and accuracyDemonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, meet diverse business priorities and work under pressure to tight deadlinesDemonstrated ability to manage a busy and ever-changing workload.Remuneration And BenefitsThe salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Councils Enterprise Agreement.Entry level for this position starts at $38.9186 per hour plus 25% casual loadingEmployee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 12% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.This position has been identified as child related work, in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013.
