We pride ourselves on providing an unforgettable dining experience, with dishes crafted from traditional recipes using fresh, quality ingredients.We are looking for a passionate and skilled Chef to join our talented team!Salary Range: $70,000 to $80,000 per annumRole: Full timeLocation: Wollongong NSW 2500Main DutiesPreparing and cooking meals, managing portions, and ensuring dishes meet quality and presentation standards.Designing menus in collaboration with management based on customer preferences, seasonal ingredients, and the restaurants theme, and ensuring compliance with dietary needs and food standards.Calculating food and labour costs, ordering inventory, and overseeing stock to maintain kitchen efficiency and reduce wastage.Managing food costs, monitoring portion sizes, and minimizing waste to stay within budget constraints.Enforce food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with regulationsSupervising, training, and mentoring kitchen staff, ensuring high culinary standardsWorking with management to synchronise kitchen operations with restaurant needs, especially during peak service timesAddressing customer feedback and complaints about food quality, ensuring customer satisfaction, and adjusting as necessary.Skills & QualificationsMinimum Certificate IV or higher in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualifications.Minimum 2 years of proven experience in Indian cuisine, with a strong understanding of spices, flavours, and traditional techniquesStrong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management procedures.Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team of kitchen staff.Effective communicator with staff and management, ensuring smooth kitchen operationsExcellent time management skills and the ability to work well under pressureAustralian citizens/permanent residents preferred.
