1st and 2nd Year Refractory Bricklaying ApprenticeshipsAdd expected salary to your profile for insightsYou will be beginning or continuing into your second year Certificate III Bricklaying/Blocklayingqualification through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with Zeal Futures with Host Employer, BlueScope.Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:Reline ladles for iron and steel making vessels using a combination of bricklaying and other refractory installation techniquesCarry out refractory installation and repairs of Blast Furnace troughsSpray refractory materials using gunning techniquesFollow Standard Procedures to ensure that safety and quality specifications are metLearn to operate forklifts and overhead cranes using a combination of in house and external trainingWhat you''ll bring to the tableTo be successful in this role, you''ll need to meet the following selection criteria:Ability to work in a team environmentSuccessful completion of 1st year Bricklaying ApprenticeshipHigh level of physical fitness due to tasks involvedWillingnessto work rotating shift patternsCommitment to full term of the apprenticeship and study requirementsDemonstrate willingness to learn and follow instructionStrong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skillsOngoing commitment to safety, quality, and principles of continuous improvementAbout Zeal FuturesZeal Futures provides the ultimate training and employment experience.
