PHE Mining is seeking an experienced Crane Operator to join our team on a fixed term project contract basis. This role will be based at a remote mine site in the Northern Territory on a 2 & 1 roster, 12-hour days. We encourage candidates willing to fly in and fly out (FIFO) of Brisbane, Perth, Darwin or Alice Springs on a direct charter flight to the project site to apply.PHE is an Industrial Electrical Contractor that undertakes large scale projects in regional and remote areas nationally. The role involves safely transporting, loading and unloading plant and equipment around site to support to our electrical construction teams to prepare for the electrical and instrumentation installation of an underground hard rock mine.If you strive to be an integral part of a team that contributes to building some of the nations most important projects, then this is the perfect role for you.ABOUT THE ROLE:Crane Operation:Operate Franna & a Slew Crane up to 60Tmove, or place equipment and materials.Perform pre-operation inspections to ensure the crane is in proper working condition.Follow signals from riggers and adhere to standard operating procedures.Safety Compliance:Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.Conduct routine safety checks and maintenance of the crane and associated equipment.Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.Load Management:Calculate load weights, and determine the appropriate size, shape, and placement of loads.Ensure loads are secure and properly balanced before lifting.Communicate effectively with ground personnel to ensure precise load placement.Record Keeping:Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance, and inspections.Document any incidents or accidents according to company policies.Collaboration:Work closely with site supervisors, riggers, and other construction personnel to ensure efficient and safe operations.Participate in team meetings and provide input on operational improvements.ABOUT YOU:Minimum 3 years'' experience operating cranes in a construction or industrial settingComprehensive knowledge of crane operation principles and load management.Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.Ability to read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and other technical documents.Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.Committed to maintaining our safety cultureIs able to pass a full medical and fitness testStrong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.You will hold or obtain the followingManual C Class Drivers licenceHigh-Risk Work Licence with C6 class or higherTelehandler ticket preferred, but not essentialIntermediate Rigging qualifications preferred, but not essentialWhite Construction CardHold or be able to obtain a National Police CheckABOUT PHE:PHE has 50 years history providing safe, rewarding, long-term employment in regional and remote areas.
