You could be one of our 3100 committed team members who are up to the challenge.Your role as a Services Officer will be primarily based out of Kyneton station . Your main duties will involve providing top-notch service to customers on V/Line services and ensuring safety on and around the rail.Your responsibilities will include selling Myki and V/Net tickets, making platform announcements, assisting passengers, and maintaining the cleanliness of the station and its facilities. You will also assist during planned and unplanned disruptions by coordinating bus replacements and supporting safe, on-time train departures.This is an ongoing, part-time position. Shifts can begin as early as 3:30 AM and may also end at 3:30 AM.Depending on scheduling and business needs, you may be required to sign on and work at various stations along the Kyneton line within 80km of your Home Depot or place of residence.In this work, you will:Gain a Certificate 3 in Rail Customer OperationsCommunicate accurate and timely information to customers about V/Line services and other forms of public transportationIdentify and report safety hazards or incidentsTake pride in, and maintain the presentation and cleanliness of the station and its facilitiesEnsure safety on and around the station, for customers, colleagues, and yourselfAbout youAs our next Services Officer, we are seeking self-motivated individuals who prioritise customer service and safety.Our ideal candidate will possess the following:Alignment to V/Lines core values of Responsiveness, Integrity, Impartiality, Accountability, Respect, Leadership and Human RightsA valid drivers license and reliable vehicleSuccessful completion of Year 10 or equivalentAbility to work independently and proactively without supervisionAbility to adapt to changing environmentsPrevious extensive experience in a customer service and operational environmentStrong verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skillsStrong safety culture and willingness to adhere to the company valuesIf your skills or experience dont exactly match our listed requirements, we still encourage you to apply. Work in a way that supports you to thrive in your role.What we offerYou will gain a Cert 3 in Customer Rail Operations across 3-4 weeks and then have an additional 2-3 weeks completing On-The-Job training. Whilst completing both of those, you will be on a Trainee Staff rate ($26). Once qualified your rate will be as Services Officer ($41.6443) , plus loadings & penalty rates, in accordance with the current V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2023.At V/Line, safety is our priority.
