This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes)Please note that accommodation is not provided on site, so this role operates on a daily drive-in, drive-out (DIDO) basis. Employees are ideally located within approximately one hours drive of Collie.As the Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for safely delivering scheduled maintenance and repair work in line with operational plans, while contributing to equipment reliability and continuous improvement.Other key responsibilities include, but arent limited to:Carrying out mechanical maintenance on the followingValves and process pipeworkPumps and pressurised vesselsTanks and Filtration EquipmentStructural and hydraulic equipmentWork using SAP instructionsReporting and documenting work activities to support asset historySupporting investigations and root cause analysis of faultsIdentifying opportunities to improve processes and reduce downtimeABOUT YOUYou will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:Applying safe work practices in a heavy industry or refinery environmentFollowing planned maintenance schedules and accurately recording workCommunicating effectively across teams and with external partnersContributing to problem-solving and equipment reliability initiativesQualifications for this position are:Australian recognised Mechanical Fitter trade certificate, Cert III in Mechanical Engineering (Fitter)Demonstrated written and oral English language proficiencyC class drivers licensePreferredAccredited training in Working in Confined Spaces & Working at HeightsHigh Risk Work Licences, including; Forklift (LF), Elevated Work Platform (EWP), Basic Rigging (RB),South32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
