The goal is to empower clients by delivering alcohol and other drug programs holistically, aligned with primary health care principles and goals.As an Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) Support Worker, you will be responsible for:Providing case management support to Aboriginal clients with drug and alcohol dependence issuesPromoting a client-focused approach when engaging with clients affected by alcohol and other drug use issues, andEmpowering clients by delivering a holistic approach to alcohol and other drugs programs and services .Reducing the level of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug usage in the local Aboriginal communityYou will have extensive work experience and/or a qualification relevant to the role, this will include:Experience either professional ly , community based, or family related in supporting Aboriginal people and their families who have alcohol and other drug issuesCase management, including consultation, assessment, support, referral & follow-upTeam care planning for SEWB clientsProviding outreach support & working in partnership with client s to reach identified goalsAn u nderstanding of the current health issues relevant to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communitiesPlanning and facilitating Education and H ealth promotion programsHelp our mob to take responsibility for their own health, the health of their families and the health of the broader Aboriginal community.More Details: Please contact Chiquita Walsh on 0414 713430 or email chiquita.walsh@awahs.com.au for a PD and confidential discussion. #J-18808-Ljbffr
