Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely.About The RoleFairhaven Recovery Centre is looking for an experienced maintenance/ grounds person to look after buildings, equipment & machinery, grounds, gardens, and surrounds of Fairhaven.You will be responsible for maintaining the gardens, lawns, watering systems, sewerage treatment plant, rainwater and bore water pumping facilities, swimming pool, paths and driveways of Fairhaven in line with Centre requirements and TSA policy and procedures.How You Will Make An ImpactEnsure lawns are mown; leaves, branches and debris are removed from grounds; and pathways are cleaned on a regular basis, providing a neat outward presentation of Fairhaven.Ensure excess rubbish and vegetation are transported safely and disposed of as requiredOversee the maintenance of gardening equipment and assist with general property maintenance and cleaning as requiredEnsure gardening equipment is operational and in safe working order, using appropriate fuels and lubricants on machinery.Carry out property maintenance activities in a timely manner, ensuring property is kept clean and tidyEnsure grounds and maintenance records are adequately kept, with any or potential hazards, issues or breakdowns, as well as unsafe conditions or practices reported to Manager in a timely mannerProvide regular reports and feedback to manager on grounds and maintenance operations, highlighting the identification of innovative solutions, new ideas and opportunities for efficiency gains or ways to further enhance and support TSA mission and values.Ensure Occupational Health and Safety obligations are followed and in line with TSA Policy and Procedures and relevant legislationWhat You Will BringQualifications in Horticulture or equivalentMinimum 2+ years experience in a similar roleSound knowledge in the use of gardening equipmentKnowledge of gardening maintenanceDrivers licenceA national police record check is requiredWhat We OfferThe Salvos offer eligible employee''s a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including:Flexible working conditions(May be eligible to) NFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax free) plus meals and entertainment benefitsEmployee Assistance Program - Independent confidential counselling serviceFinancial, retail and lifestyle discounts and benefitsDiscounted health and fitness programs through Fitness PassportUp to 8 weeks leave per year through our purchase leave schemeGenerous Parental Leave offering of 12 weeksUp to 5 days paid leave per year to support a TSA program or activityAn inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate, and professional team members.Positively supporting and impacting the lives of others through your career contribution.About UsThe Salvation Army (Salvos) is a Christian movement and one of Australia''s largest and most-loved charities.
