Our outstanding team is paramount to the success of the organisation and looking for someone of matching calibre in talent and attitude.The OpportunityReporting to and working with the Course Coordinator/Academic Lead, Lecturers contribute to the academic mission of the Institute by providing relevant, research-informed teaching and learning experiences to students. The selected candidate(s) are expected to maintain a high level of discipline specific knowledge and research.Preparing and conducting lectures, workshops, small group discussions, oral assessments, and other learning and assessment activities in line with approved subject outline.Managing the progress of students through their course of study, including maintaining email records and other records of participation, coursework and assessment.Communicate regularly with the Course Coordinator/Academic Lead and other staff within the Institute to establish a team environment and consistency in resourcing and delivery strategies.In consultation with the Course Coordinator/Academic Lead and other teaching staff implement strategies to identify, support and retain students who are experiencing difficulties with course content.Develop, maintain, and evaluate student learning programs and associated subject materials relevant to teaching activity.Contribute to the administration of the course and teaching programs by continually maintaining class attendance rolls in compliance with the Institute quality guidelines; and developing assessment tasks and the associated material.Complete assessment grading and provide academic results in a timely manner.Maintain currency of the delivery and assessment material.Coordinate course delivery with other staff in situations where more than one academic delivers a unit.Continually develop your own teaching methods and practices to apply high quality, innovative learning techniques to create interest, understanding and enthusiasm amongst students.Participating in practice area teams to maintain and develop course materials.Attend and participate in orientation/induction and other course team meetings.Qualifications, Experience, Skills and AttributesA Masters in Social Work or relevant discipline of Human and Community Services, preferably with at least 2 years of teaching experience.Industry experiences relevant to the content area and academic level being taught.Membership in AASW or a relevant recognised professional body.Why work for us?Modern facilities that support innovative teaching and learning practicesSupportive team environment that fosters collaboration and professional camaraderieStrong commitment to quality education and student successFull or partial coverage of professional development (PD) or publication costs to support your ongoing growthBe part of a forward-thinking, education-focused communityIf you would like to be considered for this role, please submit your application including a cover letter addressing the selection criteria and a current resume.SCEI-HE provides equal opportunity in employment to all suitably able people, without discrimination or harassment based on a personal characteristic, protected under the Equal Opportunity Act.Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
