Our Home Care service provides a range of services including domestic assistance, transport, social support individual, and social support group.ABOUT IWC:IWC is an Aboriginal community-controlled and multi-accredited health and wellbeing organisation that delivers services without discrimination to Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Bundaberg and the Wide Bay Burnett.FIRST NATIONS PERSONS ARE ENCOURAGED TO IDENTIFY THEIR MOB IN THEIR RESUME OR COVER LETTERABOUT THE POSITION:IWC is seeking a permanent part-time up to full-time Aged Care Support Worker - Domestic to provide care to our aged care clients living in the community, supporting their independence and improving their quality of life.Social outingsBill payingGrocery ShoppingAppointmentsWe are seeking a Aged Care Support Worker who is committed to ensuring the highest possible standard of in-home care for our valued clients.DUTIES:Assist clients with a range of day to day activities and tasks including, but not limited to: cleaning; shopping; and transports;Providing consumer directed care services to clients as prescribed in the client''s care plan.Assisting clients with general domestic duties.Actively participating in care plan development to ensure the clients ever changing needs are being met.Recognising and responding to change in a client''s condition, as well as documenting and communicating this information as required.Support and encourage the clients to continue with their interests, friendships and social interactions.Ensuring clients are treated with dignity and respect and supported to exercise choice and independence.SKILLS & EXPERIENCEWillingness to embrace domestic care duties as part of their role.Genuine empathy with elderly clients and a passion to work within the community service industry.Excellent telephone manner and great communication skills.Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.Strong organisation and time management skills to prioritise work and meet deadlines.Demonstrated ability to work independently whilst functioning within a team setting.High level of computer literacy and the ability to learn new systems quickly and retain information.KEYREQUIREMENTS:Willing to complete a Certificate III in Individual Support (Home and Community). All course expenses will be fully funded.A current driver''s licence is essential.AFirst Aid/CPR Certificate or ability to obtain.A Blue Card (Working with Children Card QLD)* or ability to obtain.A Federal Police Check or ability to obtain.* No Card, No Start legislation means that the successful applicant will need to hold a valid blue card before they start work.
