All Karratha-based roles offered are on a residential basis.ResponsibilitiesYara Pilbara are building a talent pool for upcoming Process Operator roles across our ammonia and TAN plants. If you meet the key criteria below, Yara may be in touch if a suitable opportunity arises.Process Operators at Yara Pilbara typically:Safely operate and monitor plant systems and equipment (including Utilities, Ammonia, Nitric Acid, Ammonium Nitrate, and Bulk Handling areas) in both field and control room settings, in accordance with standard operating conditions and procedures.Conduct plant startups, shutdowns, routine checks, sampling, and first-line maintenance, responding to deviations and initiating corrective actions where necessary.Prepare equipment for maintenance, issue permits, and verify safe work requirements in line with PTW and isolation procedures.Accurately maintain logs, records, and reports to support effective communication, troubleshooting, and compliance.Actively participate in structured training and competency assessments across different plant areas, contributing to continuous improvement and safe, efficient operations.If youd like to register your interest for future Process Operator roles with Yara, click Apply to submit your expression of interest.(Submitting an EOI does not guarantee contact, interview, or employment. You will only be contacted if a suitable opportunity arises that aligns with your skills, experience, and qualifications.)ProfileWhat do Yara typically look for?Certificate III in Process Plant Operations or equivalent (trade or tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering or similar also considered)Minimum 35 years of experience in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, or manufacturing industriesExperience in Ammonia, Methanol, Nitric Acid, or Ammonium Nitrate plant operations is highly desirableStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environmentProficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and basic understanding of IT systems and account processingFluent in English, both spoken and writtenAustralian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residencyAdditional InformationYara celebrates diversity in all operations, practices, and engagement.
