From Gulfstream business jets and combat vehicles to nuclear-powered submarines and communications systems, people around the world depend on our products and services for their safety and security.In Australia, General Dynamics Land Systems Australia (GDLS-A) works closely with Defence and industry partners to ensure our vehicles continue to meet all mission requirements as needed by the Australian Defence Force.Fitter Armourer (Weapons Technician)We are currently recruiting for a Fitter Armourer (Weapons Technician) to join our team in Townsville.In this role, you will be responsible for providing a high level of workmanship in the servicing, inspection, repair and maintenance of M1A2 Sep v3 Abrams Main Battle Tank (MBT), ASLAV platforms and others.In addition, you will:Conduct work in accordance with approved maintenance proceduresRepair disassemble and re-assemble vehicles and sub-assemblies in accordance with the detailed instructions contained in routing and technical drawingsEnsure the proper use of support and test equipment and that adequate materials are available and maintained for tasks and are kept in good working orderEnsure accuracy with all paperwork associated with work undertakenYour skills and experience will include:Demonstrated experience performing work on the M1A1-2, ASLAV, M88A2 or related Defence vehiclesHold a related trade qualification (desirable)Demonstrated experience working with or for DefenceAbility to work autonomously and as part of a wider teamTo be successful for this role, applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian government security clearance.
