Sometimes, the best kind of office comes with open skies.In this Geology Technicianrole, youll spend your days out in the field and the core yard. Youll be out in the elements, working hard and getting hands-on with moving, digging, sampling, and exploring open pits, along with some drill rig work.It can be physically demanding, but if you prefer hard work over a desk job, this is your kind of opportunity.You wont be thrown in the deep end. This team is packed with experienced geos and techs who remember what its like to start out. Plus, youll be backed by your Geology Services Supervisor, whos there to make sure youve got what you need to do your job safely and well.Out here, its not just rocks that tell a story. Its a crew that values respect, good food, and looking out for each other.Youll be based at the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine on an 8/6 FIFO roster with direct flights from Perth and Kalgoorlie.Accountabilities:Processing geological rock samples (diamond core and rock chips) through different stages, in preparation for Geologists to collate data from.Preparing rock samples for dispatch to a laboratory.Storage, archiving and cataloguing of rock samples.Carry out Ore mark ups and installation and pick up of Blast Monitor Balls in the open pitPicking up drill samples for dispatch to a LaboratoryOperating computers to collate data taken from the rock samples, entry of your daily tasks at the end of shift, updating/compiling procedures.Operating vehicles and other equipment safely and as required by the appropriate rules and procedures.Working with contractors clearing and rehabbing drill sitesCompleting all tasks in accordance with all relevant safety instructions, procedures and rules and the Duty of Care for employees as legislated.Attend and actively participate in safety meetings, training courses and inductions as requiredAbout YouPeople are at the heart of everything we do.
