The intent of the scheme is to assist customers with their connection to essential utility services in situations where they are unable to meet their financial obligations to a utility provider. Referred applicants are assessed for eligibility to a one-off grant payment, as well as provided information and referral support to minimise the chance of issues re-occurring in the future. The Service Centre also provides support on better managing energy and water usage.The Emergency Relief and FoodAccess Serviceprovides an assisted access pathway connecting individuals to emergency and food relief as well as connecting them through to their local service providers.About the roleAs a Financial Support Worker, you will provide a phone-based service to our clients accessing any of the above-mentioned supports. You will ensure clients receive a culturally appropriate service that assists people experiencing immediate financial crisis. This is a high-volume service, with the call centre operating from 9am until 7pm Monday and Tuesday and 9am until 5pm Wednesday to Friday.You will be comfortable using a range of IT systems to manage calls, collect information from clients and assess eligibility for HUGS grants.
