About the role ...We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our team in a high-volume production kitchen that caters to aged care facilities. The role primarily involves working in the dishwashing area, along with general cleaning tasks, refilling kitchen chemicals and supplies, and providing support to the kitchen team as required. Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, trays, utensils, and cookware.Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the dishwashing and kitchen areas in line with food safety standards.Assist with general kitchen cleaning duties, including wiping surfaces, cleaning equipment, and removing rubbish.Monitor and refill kitchen supplies such as paper towels, hand soaps, sanitizers, and cleaning chemicals.Support kitchen staff during food preparation and packaging as required.Adhere to hygiene, safety, and infection control procedures at all times.Report any maintenance or equipment issues to the supervisor promptly.QualificationsFood Safety Level 1 (or willingness to obtain) preferred.Skills:Experience working in aged care or healthcare catering environments desirablePrevious experience in a commercial or production kitchen environment is preferred but not essential.Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.Good time management and attention to detail.Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift light to moderate loads.Understanding of the importance of hygiene, particularly when catering to aged care facilities.Why work for MiCare?$27.67 per hour + 12% SuperannuationPermanent part time (66 hours per fortnight)Monday, Tuesday & Thursday (7am to 4pm), Friday (7am to 3pm)Save on tax with generous salary packaging benefits -Novatedleasing, general living expenses, regional area benefits, mealentertainment, Holiday Accommodation and Venue hireEmployee wellness portal access great discountsAchieve work life balance - Work close to home in SeafordA role that would suit an individual genuinely passionate about supporting processes leading to providing delicious meals to elders in Aged CareJoin our dedicated and friendly kitchen teamAbout us ...MiCare is proud to be a culturally and linguistically diverse organisation.
