To show up, listen deeply, and hold space for growth.Whats the role about?Being a Recovery Support Worker at Richmind WA is more than just a jobits a calling.Youll support people navigating mental distress to build independence, reconnect with their strengths, and take steps toward the life they want to live.This means helping with life skills, offering emotional support, and showing up as a consistent, compassionate presence.Youll be part of a supportive team, working in our residential homeshelping people feel safe, seen, and heard.What does a typical day look like?Sharing a cuppa and talking through the days recovery goalsHelping someone practice budgeting, cooking, or transport planningSupporting a person in distress with empathy and calmCelebrating a small but powerful win (like attending a group activity)Logging notes, chatting with your team, or attending a learning sessionSupporting a residents family to understand how to walk the recovery journey with themThe role is fixed-term part time offering 75 hours over 4 weeks -- this includes overnights and weekend shifts.Desired Skills and ExperienceWhat makes you a great fit?You dont need to be a mental health expertyou just need to care deeply about people and believe in their ability to grow and heal.Were looking for someone who:Has a Cert IV in Mental Health, Community Services, or similarand experience in mental healthIs emotionally intelligent, calm under pressure, and values teamworkCan support someone through a tough moment, not just a taskUnderstands (or wants to learn) recovery-oriented practiceHas a current drivers licence and relevant checks (see below)Lived experience of recovery (as a consumer, carer or family member) is especially valued here.Youll need:Cert IV in a mental health or similar and previous experienceNational Police Clearance (under 6 months old)Working With Children CheckFirst Aid & CPR (HLTAID011, HLTAID010, HLTAID009)Valid drivers licenceWho are we?At Richmind WA, weve been supporting people on their mental health journeys for over 50 years.Were recovery-first, lived experience-led, and proudly Rainbow Tick accredited.
