About The Role1st Year Transmission Lineworker Apprentice Salary - $77,250 per annum (plus Super)Are you looking to kickstart or advance your career to unlock the future you want? Starting in February 2026, our 4-year apprenticeship program offers the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised trade qualification Certificate III in ESI Transmission Overhead (UET30521).Learning from skilled tradespeople, you will be exposed to:Theory and hands-on learning delivered by TasNetworks own Registered Training Organisation (RTO)On-site field work at various locations statewideConstruction and maintenance of the transmission overhead networkLocating and rectifying faults on the transmission networkOperating and maintaining plant and equipmentCompleting all necessary paperwork and reportingTasNetworks is responsible for keeping the lights on across Tasmania. Our field crews are committed to investigating and restoring power during extreme weather events such as storms, bushfires, floods, and snowfall.Our Lineworker apprenticeship offers more than just a job; it sets you up with a career for life!About YouYou should be passionate about building your career and making a positive difference in your community.To participate in our Apprenticeship Program, you must:Be able to work towards completing the relevant trade CertificateAdhere to health, safety, and environmental practicesPossess strong communication skills and build positive relationshipsBe physically fit and pass a pre-employment medical examinationHold a current provisional drivers licence by February 2026Have completed Year 12 with Maths, English, and preferably Science, or have completed pre-vocational studies in Certificate II in Electrotechnology (or equivalent), or relevant work experienceWhats on offerOur 4-year apprenticeship leads to a permanent role as a qualified tradesperson, based out of our Devonport depot.
