Company DescriptionCommis Chef (Full Time) | Mercure Gold Coast ResortThe Mercure Gold Coast Resort is a 292-room hotel set over 3.5 hectares of manicured gardens, featuring extensive food & beverage operations, two resort pools, and conference facilities. Located amidst expansive gardens on the Gold Coast, it offers a tranquil oasis.This role primarily involves breakfast shifts, servicing buffet and la carte breakfast, as well as lunch service.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:Preparing and serving food for breakfast buffet, maintaining freshness and quality.Contributing ideas to keep the offerings varied and exciting for guests.Preparing mis-en-place as required.Ensuring consistent high-quality food production aligned with resort standards.Managing stock rotation, minimizing wastage, and assisting with food ordering.Keeping work areas clean and tidy, maintaining equipment.YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:Trade qualified (minimum Certificate III Commercial Cookery).Previous experience in a commercial kitchen preferred, with understanding of food safety requirements.A passion for food and high standards of production and presentation.Knowledge of and ability to maintain food safety standards.Excellent communication skills and professional grooming.Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.Flexibility to work a 7-day roster, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays.Reliable, with a positive attitude towards early morning starts.Unlimited work rights in Australia.
