Selects equipment and plans layout and assembly of welding. Works closely with supervision and maintains precise standards of accuracy.Essential Duties:Assembles and fits structural, plate, and mechanical materials into various assemblies according to drawing dimensions.Produces quality welds efficiently and performs fitter tasks using various positions and metallurgy.Performs or assists with fit-up and preparation of welds.Performs or assists with post-weld cleanup, inspection, and repair.Communicates regularly with the Field Foreman regarding issues and concerns.Performs other job-related duties as requested by supervision.Qualifications:At least 3 years of prior tank welding and fitting experience.Effective and accurate communication skills with employees and customers.Ability to pass required weld testing (WPS FC-P1-P1-IL) as determined by CWI/Quality Assurance. Experience with FCAW process on storage tanks, ships, etc., is required.Ability to complete all pre-hire requirements successfully.Physical/Site Requirements:Lift and carry heavy items up to 45 pounds.Move in confined, cluttered, and uneven areas with full range of motion and flexibility.Work up to 12-hour shifts in varying temperature extremes and outdoor conditions.Climb and maintain balance on steel frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.Wear PPE such as footwear, prescription safety glasses, or eye shields.Graywolf Integrated Construction Company is an equal opportunity employer.
