voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley is a boutique hotel set on an intimate 70-acre estate, ideally situated at the gateway to the finest vineyards of the Hunter Valley.Our hotel is looking for a Permanent Part-Time Gardener Handyperson to join our engaged and friendly Maintenance team. This role will contribute to the maintenance of the hotel''s gardens, building, plant/equipment, and fixtures and fittings around the hotel. We go above and beyond to keep our guests experiences and first impressions positive. As an efficient self-starter, you''ll be able to work with limited supervision.Every day is different, but you''ll mostly be:Attending to all types of maintenance, repair, and refurbishment work across the hotel premises.Following a maintenance log and preventative maintenance calendar to ensure everything is working efficiently at all times.Maintaining the hotel''s gardens, including hedges and lawns across the estate.Ensuring the hotel asset is maintained to a high standard and facilities are always guest-ready.Keeping gardens, thoroughfares, and hotel spaces clear and free from debris and litter.Using hand tools, light machinery, small/large mowers, trimmers, and other maintenance/gardening equipment.Taking responsibility for the safety and cleanliness of areas inside and outside the hotel, such as the car park and pool.Keeping your supervisor informed about supply levels and ensuring equipment is ready for use.Working safely and responsibly alone and with your team.Being a friendly face and assisting hotel guests when required.Being ready to take on extra duties when the team needs you.What we need from you:Youll have at least one year of maintenance and gardening experience.Good all-round knowledge of maintenance/gardening procedures, preferably within the hospitality industry, hotels/resorts, or similar environments (hospitals, schools, aged care facilities, shopping centres, etc.) is highly advantageous.Experience in areas such as air conditioning, door lock systems, painting, tiling, basic plumbing, and furniture repairs would be helpful.Strong team player attitude and good communication skills across departments.Ability to maintain high and consistent standards.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Availability to work a 7-day roster with flexible hours, including weekends, some evenings, and public holidays.Full Australian working rights (no sponsorships will be offered).What you can expect from us:We provide everything needed to succeed, including a competitive wage and a range of benefits to support your work-life balance.Free duty meal on shiftPaid parental leave schemeOn-site free parkingEmployee discounts on all IHG Hotels & Resorts for accommodation, food, and beveragesA large discounts platform for various brands and retailersOur mission is to welcome everyone and foster inclusive teams that celebrate diversity and encourage colleagues to bring their whole selves to work.
