As our new Peer Recovery Worker, your lived experience can offer real hope and meaningful connection to people in our community who are working towards their own recovery.In this role, you''ll work alongside participants in a residential setting sharing your experience, building connection, and helping to create a supportive environment for participants. If this sounds like something you''d like to be a part of, we''d love to hear from you.Please click here to download a copy of the position description to see further details relating to this role.About The ProgramsWellways delivers Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) & the Specialist Residential Rehabilitation Program (SRRP) in partnership with Goulburn Valley Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Service (GVAMH&WS).These services operate 24/7 and provides a practical environment that facilitates the maintenance of, and / or the development of skills in the domains of daily living, learning, working, social and health. This program provides clinical and psychosocial support to participants and are underpinned by evidence-based best practice.To be successful in this role, you will need:Personal experience of mental health challenges and a willingness to draw upon your experiences and recovery journey to inform your workRelevant qualifications (generally Certificate IV or above in fields such as Community Services, Peer Work or Mental Health) OR commensurate experience (1+ years) required to work in a support role for people with a mental illness OR Intentional Peer Support training OR the ability to demonstrate study toward these qualificationsRight to work within AustraliaCurrent valid Drivers Licence and the ability to undertake some travelNDIS Worker Orientation Module CertificateSatisfactory National Police Records Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children''s CheckWhy us?Wellways are a team of approximately 2000 staff and 150 volunteers across 93 sites providing a range of programs, services and supports to people right across Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria and Tasmania.
