This role involves involvement with numerous native Australian species and has the potential to expand into working with our exotic species.Your Day To DayUndertake animal husbandry and exhibit maintenance tasks to maintain excellent health of all animals as well as ensuring the exhibit presentation standards are maintained at all timesHandle wildlife for guest interactivesFacilitate relevant education talks, school programs and interactive tours to provide an educational & conservational experience to guests and studentsMaintain excellent hygiene practices at all times in diet preparation, presentation, and storageParticipate in rotation and auditing of stockEnsure equipment is checked & maintained daily and ensure procedures are followed should equipment be faulty or require replacementBe responsible for punctuality to all animal presentations, tours, programs and guest experiencesWhat Youll BringCertificate III in captive animal studies or equivalent EssentialAnimal handling experience EssentialPrimate experience an advantageExperience with animal training and positive reinforcement an advantageMinimum 2 years demonstrated experience working with Australian wildlife & sound knowledge of animal husbandry. Either paid or volunteer- EssentialPrevious Koala handling experience an advantageExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with guest service experiencePublic speaking experience - EssentialSound knowledge of current wildlife and environmental challenges to conservationManual Drivers license an advantage #J-18808-Ljbffr
