In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queenslands Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in Northwest Queensland and Western Australia.Dawson is located at the southern end of the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, being just over a 2hrs drive west from either Rockhampton or Gladstone, or 4.5hrs drive north of the Darling Downs or South Burnett.Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking a Belt Technician within the CHPP at our Dawson Mine, on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Belt Technician is accountable for completing mechanical maintenance functions (Predominantly belt splicing and general conveyor maintenance) within the Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP).QualificationsHold a relevant Trade Qualification in Belt Splicing.Previous exposure to coal handling plants is preferred.Experience with Conveyor belt splicing and Conveyor maintenance.Familiarity with Safety systems within a Prep Plant.Additional InformationPermanent full-time position based at the CHPP, Dawson MineAttractive 7 on, 7 off dayshift only rosterLive residentially or DIDO (with company funded camp available)20 weeks paid parental leaveAnnual leave purchasing optionsIndustry leading remuneration and attractive yearly bonusGym/Health incentive + On site Physio + On site EAPWhat we OfferWhen you join Anglo American, you can expect to enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package.
